X-Ray Visions, Inc.
“3 Men in a Garage” to 15,000 sq. ft. Class A Office
In the years surrounding 2000, the landscape of independently owned companies providing medical imaging services, not only in the mid-Atlantic region, but nationally, went through considerable turmoil with many changes in ownership, scope of services and operational objectives. In 2001, Reed Scull, Bud Mori and Jim Gant saw the opportunity to start their own sales and service organization. Our “vision” was to bring a independent, proactive, knowledgeable and reliable medical imaging service and sales company to the Mid-Atlantic region. We started out just “3 Men in a Garage.”
Reed originally got into the business in 1974 working at Capital X-Ray, a medical imaging dealer in northern Virginia. Through his twenty three years with that company, Reed worked in sales and eventually management, learning the medical imaging supply business from top to bottom. Bud also worked with the same company for twenty years, starting in 1978. Bud worked his way through the ranks, starting as warehouse manager, then on to becoming a service engineer and eventually, director of the service department overseeing over forty service technicians. Jim Gant started his career in 1972 as a service technician with GE Medical, spent twenty years working for a prominent local radiology imaging group as service manager and at the same time taught at Washington Hospital Center’s School of Radiology Technology. Reed, Bud & Jim all worked at Standard Medical for several years as well. In 2007, Bob Schreiber joined our team as Director of Sales. Bob’s contributions to the growth of the company enabled him to become a partner in the corporation in 2010. Bob has had extensive sales experience in the dealer network dating back to 1981. He also worked in sales on the manufacturing side of the business in women’s health with R-2 Technologies and digital radiography development with Konica Minolta. Jim Gant retired in 2010.
XRV realized significant growth in the years following it’s conception. Our sales and service organization expanded from just the mid-Atlantic states to where we now cover southeastern Pennsylvania, southern New Jersey and all of Delaware. XRV strived and succeeded in being in the forefront of the medical imaging conversion from analog to digital. Our knowledge of the business, our relationship with the manufacturers, the quality of our service technicians, our long standing customer relationships and our ability to be versatile enough to meet our customers needs proved to be a good formula for success. The “3 men in a Garage” had grown to a 15,000 sq. ft. Class A Office.
And XRV has continued to grow. In 2009, XRV acquired Diversified Medical, an independent bio-medical service company, in order to meet our customer’s request for these types of services. In 2012, XRV acquired Kane X-Ray and United Medical. These acquisitions have allowed the companies to combine their individual talents and expertise in their market segment and present a stronger single company that is positioned to better serve our customers.
There have been many changes in the medical imaging industry since 2001. XRV’s “vision” has remained the same. Our goal every day is to combine our technical expertise and product knowledge to create the best possible imaging solution combined with the best business results for our valued customers.
